On Saturday, January 27, 2024, at approximately 2:51 AM Officer B. Walker was dispatched to the area of Douglas Court on a report of a Burglary to Auto in progress. The victim observed a male going through his vehicle on home surveillance cameras. Upon arrival the Officer located a male inside a black Toyota. The Officer exited his vehicle and ordered the suspect not to move. The suspect disregarded the Officer’s orders and ran towards a rear yard. The Officer ran after him and caught him when the suspect began to resist arrest. Sergeant J. Iucolino and Officer D. Fiabane arrived on scene and they were able to place the suspect under arrest. The suspect was identified as Thomas Drake, 52, of Trenton. He had numerous items in his possession that did not belong to him including gift cards, loose change, lighters, and other items. It was later determined Drake had entered a vehicle parked in the area of Kristin Way.
Drake was charged with two counts of Burglary, two count of Theft, Obstructing the Administration of Law, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Prescription Legend Drug, and Possession of Hypodermic Needle. He was transported to the Mercer County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
