On Thursday, June 26, 2025 at approximately 6:07AM officers along with the Hamilton Fire Department were dispatched to the 200 block of Lynwood Avenue on a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival a juvenile female who was in the residence and had escaped alerted Police and Fire that her sister and grandmother were still inside. Hamilton Fire entered the residence and located the two females in separate bedrooms on the second floor. They were taken out of the residence and rendered immediate aid by members of the Fire Department. They were both transported to Capital Health at Fuld where they succumbed to their injuries the next day. The juvenile female that was out of the residence when units arrived was assisted out of the second-floor window by a neighbor. She was taken to Capital Health at Fuld and released. The fire was ruled accidental and appeared to have started in a first-floor room.

Hamilton Police would like to thank the Hamilton Fire Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for their assistance.
