Councilman Anthony Carabelli Jr. welcomed DTLR, to Independence Plaza (2465 S. Broad St.), with a grand opening celebration on Friday, November 7, marking its first location in Mercer County.
DTLR (formerly Downtown Locker Room) is a nationally recognized lifestyle retailer offering street-inspired footwear, apparel, and accessories from top brands including Nike, Adidas, and Jordan. With more than 250 stores across 19 states, the company continues to grow while maintaining a strong commitment to community connection, culture, and customer experience.
The brand-new store is part of DTLR’s NextGen concept, featuring modern digital ticker tapes, digital monitors showcasing dynamic visuals from brand partners, community activations, and lifestyle content featuring the latest trends and products. The NextGen concept also showcases integrated shelf illumination, standalone mid-floor brand capsules, and other fixtures – helping to create an inviting brand experience.
The Hamilton store is led by Store Manager Iyonna Herbert and District Manager Kareem Cathey, who welcomed guests, showcased the store’s features, and introduced DTLR’s latest collections. As part of the grand opening celebration—and in keeping with DTLR’s longstanding mission to uplift the communities it serves—the retailer surprised 12 local students with special product giveaways and gift cards.
