Calvin Stevens
On Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at approximately 12:50 P.M. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Lewis Avenue on a report of a package theft. While in route it was reported the suspect had also taken a package from a porch on the 200 block of Steward Street. Officers Hamann and Zimmerman canvassed the area and located a male matching the description of the suspect walking in the area and stopped him on Ellwood Street. Other Officers spoke to the witness and confirmed the male they stopped was the suspect in the thefts through video surveillance. He was identified as Calvin Stevens. Officers told Stevens they were placing him under arrest and he attempted to flee the area on foot. He was quickly apprehended and placed into custody. During a search of Stevens after arrest, a loaded Kel Tec handgun was located on his person along with the merchandise from the stolen packages.
Steven was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Possession of Defaced Firearm, Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons, Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing the Administration of Law. He was transported to the Mercer County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
