Public Notice for Residents
Hamilton Community Energy Aggregation Program
While the majority of participants in Hamilton’s
Community Energy Aggregation Program will NOT be impacted by the
following issue, Hamilton Township was recently informed of a billing-related
error that will affect some participating customers.
Due to a recent internal error on the part of our program
electric supplier’s (Constellation New Energy) control, electric charges for
some program participants were unable to be included in their last bill
(which is sent by Public Service Electric & Gas). For ONLY
these affected participants, their next bill (i.e. October bill) will include
charges for their electric usage during the previous two billing
Constellation sent affected customers a letter to inform them
of this issue.
We would like affected program participants to be aware of
this issue so that they do NOT mistakenly believe that in
their next bill they are either seeing an “extra charge” or “increased
rates.” Affected customers would simply be seeing a ‘catch-up’ on their
next bill for those charges which did not appear on the previous month’s bill
and in total, over that two month period they would be charged no more or no
less that what they actually owe.
Additionally, this error will NOT impact the
delivery of energy to any program participant’s home.
For further assistance, program participants may contact
Constellation’s Customer Service Center weekdays between 8 am and 8 pm (except
holidays) at 833-258-1631 or email Home@constellation.com
