Program Consumer Protections and Benefits

Like our first phase, residents will enjoy vital program benefits and safeguards not always available if you shop with a third-party supplier on your own:

The program is regulated by the State of New Jersey’s Board of Public Utilities
In this new phase - Constellation New Energy - the lowest bidder - will offer a fixed price for 15-months that is below the comparable PSE&G tariff rates for electric supply
Even after the program begins, residents can opt-out at any time, with no exit fees or penalties
Budget billing for residents on equal payment plans with PSE&G remains available

In addition:
PSE&G still delivers this cheaper electricity supply to residents
Residents still contact PSE&G for power outage and restoration issues
And residents will continue to be billed by PSE&G, but will simply enjoy a lower cost electricity supply
Those residents receiving financial assistance through their PSE&G bill through programs such as the LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) program will continue to receive those benefits
Those residents who purchase other services from PSE&G such as the Worry-Free appliance repair program will continue to receive those services
