Hamilton Township Business and Non-Profit Corporation Registry

All Hamilton Township businesses and non-profit organizations are required to register annually with the Municipal Clerk’s Office.  A business is defined as any corporation, partnership, limited partnership, proprietorship individual(s) and/or any other form of business entity engaged in any commercial or industrial activity as defined in N.J.S.A. 40:52-1. A non-profit organization is defined in N.J.S.A. 15A: 1-1 et seq whose physical address and/or registered agent is located in Hamilton Township, NJ.

How can I register my business or non-profit organization?

You can register your business/non-profit organization by clicking on the link below. Simply fill out the application, attach your tax registration certificate and click submit. Once reviewed for completeness, you will be issued a confirmation of your registration for your records.

Is there a fee to register my business or non-profit organization?

No, there is no fee to register your business or non-profit organization. It is free for all businesses and non-profit organization in Hamilton Township.

Do I have to register my business?

Yes, you are required by law (Ordinance No. 20-024) to register your business or non-profit organization. It is vitally important that the township is aware that you are operating in the business community. This Registry will provide essential information to strengthen municipal/business communications, ensure public safety, and provide valuable statistics. 

When will I need to renew my business in the business registry?

The Business Registry will be done annually on July 1st. Businesses already registered will be able to renew their business registry and confirm their information.

 

Is there a penalty if I don’t register?

Yes. While there is no fee to register,  a fine will be imposed if you fail to register before December 31st, 2020.  Fines shall be assessed at $100 for a first offense and any subsequent offense  shall be no greater than $300.00.
