Hamilton Township Resource Guide for Persons with Special Needs 

In 2013, Hamilton Township Mayor Kelly Yaede directed Hamilton's Advisory Commission for Persons with Special Needs to develop a guide for both residents with special needs and those who assist or care for individuals or children with special needs, focusing upon available assistance and services, including government assistance programs, private agencies that focus upon special needs citizens, available transportation resources, recreational opportunities and other support resources and systems.

Hamilton Township Persons with Special Needs Advisory Commission

The Mayor's Commission on Persons with Special Needs is a Hamilton Township Volunteer Commission that acts in an advisory capacity to the Mayor and make recommendations for policies and programs in all matters related to the best interests of individuals with physical and developmental special needs within the township.

Register Ready – New Jersey’s Special Needs Registry

“Register Ready – New Jersey’s Special Needs Registry for Disasters” allows NJ residents with access and functional needs and their families, friends and associates an opportunity to provide information to emergency response agencies, so emergency responders can better plan to serve them in a disaster or other emergency.

Business Accessibility Guide

Created by the Mayor's Commission on Persons with Special Needs, the Business Accessibiliy Guide provides information adapted from ADA Update: A Primer for Small Business, as published by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, Disability Rights Section. It was developed for small businesses in accordance with the Small Business Regulatory Enforcement Flexibility Act of 1996.

Hamilton Township Accessible Playground in Veterans Park


Located inside the Klockner Road entrance to Veterans Park, Hamilton Township’s Accessible Playground is a special location that was designed to be an inclusive playground that allows children with special needs the ability to play alongside children of all abilities. 

Hamilton’s Accessible Playground includes:

  • Wide ramps that are wheelchair accessible
  • Adaptive swings equipped with safety belts
  • a low-height “Toss-n-Score” Basketball Basket 
  • several slides and climbing areas
  • a large “Sunblox Sail Roof” providing cover from the sun on warm summer days 
  • a “Whirl Wind” spinning seat
  • “bouncing” stationary cars 
  • a See Saw
  • a soft rubber mat surface for safety, which also allows for easier wheelchair accessibility
  • and much more!!!
