CNN/Money Magazine Ranks Hamilton 3rd Best Small City in New Jersey, 75th in Nation
The newest rankings of America’s best small cities by CNN/Money Magazine has ranked Hamilton Township the 3rd best in New Jersey and 75th nationally.
The publication notes Hamilton’s 40-square miles of space filled with many public parks and playgrounds, including the 350-acre Veterans Park, as well as Hamilton being home to Grounds For Sculpture.
“When combined with our community’s recognition as one of our nation’s hidden gems by Profiles with Terry Bradshaw earlier this year, I think this is another indication of what a great community Hamilton Township is – even though we still consider it ‘America’s Favorite Hometown’,” says Hamilton Township Mayor John Bencivengo.
Some prominent cities that Hamilton Township rated higher then include Fargo, North Dakota (most populated city in state); West Des Moines, Iowa; Cheyenne, Wyoming (state’s capital); Wayne, New Jersey; Bensalem, Pennsylvania (home of Parx Casino and Racetrack); Iowa City (home of the University of Iowa), Iowa; Auburn, Alabama (home of Auburn University); Ames, Iowa (home of Iowa State University and the Ames Presidential Straw Poll); Nashua, New Hampshire; Coral Springs, Florida; and Ann Arbor, Michigan (home of University of Michigan).
“This is another positive ‘selling-point’ to prospective businesses on why they should consider Hamilton Township and something we plan to use in marketing our community,” explains Director of Economic Development and Technology, Michael Angarone.
The top rated small city in the nation according to the report is Carmel, Indiana, which similar to Hamilton has a dedicated ‘Arts & Design District’ that holds an annual arts festival and is home to a performing arts center.
