Hamilton Looking for School Crossing Guards

In its continuing efforts to keep its school children safe when walking to and from school, Hamilton Township is looking for residents interested in serving as school crossing guards.

Candidates interested in serving as a school crossing guard must be:

ü  Available Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

ü  Able to tolerate inclement weather conditions

ü  Are required to submit to criminal background checks, a physical, and background references checks

“Keeping our school children safe is a priority for us all,” explains Mayor Kelly Yaede.  “That is why we are looking for qualified candidates who can serve our community in this capacity.” 

Residents interested in serving as a school crossing guard must also complete an application, which is available at the Hamilton Police Division Headquarters Traffic Unit (located at 1270 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619) and can be obtained in person weekdays from 8 AM – 4 PM.  The hourly wage for school crossing guards is $17.57.
