Hamilton Holds Free
Rabies Clinic for Residents’
Dogs and Cats on
Saturday, January 24th
Hamilton Township will hold its
first free rabies immunization clinic of the year for residents’ dogs and cats
on Saturday, January 24th at the McManimon Township Building
located at 320 Scully Avenue, between the hours of 9 AM and 12
Note for Directions: The McManimon Building at 320 Scully
Avenue is located off of Olden Avenue, between Liberty Street and Cedar Lane,
opposite the Olden Pharmacy.
As a courtesy, the clinic is open to pets of
Township residents only (proof a residency is required), and is free
of charge. For residents utilizing this Hamilton Township service,
all dogs must be leashed. As a safety precaution, dogs should be muzzled,
if necessary. All cats must arrive in a carrier.
“I urge all of our residents who are the
owners of dogs or cats to take full advantage of our township’s free rabies
says Hamilton Township Mayor Kelly Yaede.
Following the January 24th clinic,
Hamilton’s next rabies clinic will be held on February 28th, followed by
clinics taking place in March, June and September.
In response to the rabies epidemic in our
wildlife, the New Jersey Department of Health Policy requires the immunization
of dogs every 2 years, even if the inoculation is good for a 3 year
period. 2015 Dog Licenses will not be issued if a pet’s rabies
immunization expires before November 1, 2015.
