HOW DO I GET RID OF IT?

1. GRASS CLIPPINGS - Place curbside on your regular trash day in bags or containers. (Not in cardboard boxes) Bags and containers can weigh no more than 50 lbs. Containers must have handles. Clippings may be dropped off at Ecological Facility.
2. NEWSPAPERS,JUNK MAIL, SCRAP PAPER- Place in Green Recycling Bucket at curbside on your regular recycling day every two weeks. Call 278-8086 (MCIA) if you do not know your regularly scheduled recycling day. Items may be dropped off at the Ecological Facility.
3. CARDBOARD- Place at curbside along with newspapers every two weeks on your regular recycling day. Cardboard may be dropped off at the Ecological Facility. Call for information 278-8086 (MCIA) (Must be no more than 3’x3’).
4. EMPTY CANS, BOTTLES, PLASTIC #1 or #2 CONTAINERS - Place in Yellow Recycling Bucket (wash & rinse) at curbside on your regular recycling day every two weeks. Call 278-8086 (MCIA) if you do not know your regularly scheduled recycling day. Items may be dropped off at the Ecological Facility. (# located within symbol on container)
5. BRUSH AND BRANCHES - Place at curbside, 4ft. lengths, tied and bundled or in containers (no bags) and must be no more than 50lbs. Call 890-3560 during business hours to arrange a PICK UP. Calls placed by Friday at 3:30 will be picked up by the end of the following week. Brush may be dropped off at the Ecological Facility. NO STUMPS - please call a recycling market for disposal. Have brush and branches out on curb by 7:30a.m., Monday.
6. HOUSEHOLD BULKY ITEMS- Furniture, mattresses, styrofoam, carpet, wood Doors, Paneling, Plywood, Pressboard, etc. may be place at the curb for pick up on your second regular trash collection day of the week. There is a three item limit. You may call 1-800-633-9096 for any special information, instructions you may require, or for bulk pick up. Carpet must be cut into four (4) ft. in length, tied and bundled, weighing no more than 50 lbs. Pressboard and plywood must be cut in 4ft. lengths. Bulk items are not accepted at the Ecological Facility. Work done by contractors will not be picked up.
7. FREON- Refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers may be placed at the curb by 7:30a.m. Monday and all doors must be removed). Call 890-3560 during business hours to arrange for pick up. Calls placed by Friday at 3:30 will be scheduled for picked up on Monday of the following week. Items may be dropped off at the Ecological Facility.
8. WHITE GOODS- Metal items such as hot water heaters, stoves, washers, dryers, cast iron bath tubs, sinks, dishwashers, microwave ovens, lawnmowers, grills, etc. may be placed at the curb by 7:30am, Tuesday. Call 890-3560 during business hours to arrange for a pick up. Heavy metal items may also be dropped off at the Ecological Facility.
9. LEAVES-Two seasonal leaf pickup programs (spring and fall). Instructions are on the Twp. Website www.hamiltonnj.com. Public notices are also placed in newspapers. For more information, call 890-3560. Leaves may be dropped off at the Ecological Facility.
10. TIRES, MOTOR OIL, AUTOMOBILE BATTERIES - DROP OFF ONLY. Tires must be removed from rims. Tires, motor oil and automobile batteries may be dropped off at the Ecological Facility. There is no pick up for these items.
11. UNPAINTED OR UNTREATED WOOD - DROP OFF ONLY. This does not include plywood or pressboard. Unpainted or untreated wood may be dropped off at the Ecological Facility. There is no pick up for these items.
12. WINDOWS - Picked up curbside. Glass must be taped. Call for bulk pick up 1-800-633-9096.
13. FLUORESCENT LIGHT BULBS AND TUBES - Picked up curbside. Call For bulk pick up, 1-800-633-9096.
14. CONCRETE, CINDER BLOCKS, BRICKS -These items may be placed at the curb with regular trash on the second collection day of the week. It must be broken and placed in five (5) gallon containers weighing no more than 50lbs. Call for bulk pick up, 1-800-633-9096. Items may be dropped off at the Ecological Facility in small quantities. No Contractors allowed.
15. MULCH, SAND, DIRT, RAILROAD TIES - Check yellow pages for local landscaper for removal, or recycle center. Items may not be dropped off at Ecological Facility and will NOT be picked up at the curb.
16. HAY – Hay may NOT be dropped off at the Ecological Facility. It must be placed in bags or containers, not to weigh more than 50lbs. Call 1-800-633-9096, for bulk pickup.
17. ASPHALT SHINGLES – Shingles may be picked up at the curb with regular trash on the second collection day of the week. They can be bundled or put in containers weighing not more than 50lbs. Call for bulk pick up, 1-800-633-9096. Shingles may not be dropped off at the Ecological Facility. NOTE: Work done by contractors will NOT be picked up.
18. WOOD PALLETS - Pallets may be picked up curbside with regular trash on the second collection day of the week. They must not be more than 4 ft. in length. Call 1-800-633-9096 for a bulk pick up. Pallets may not be dropped off at the Ecological Facility.
19. PROPANE TANKS-Check yellow pages under Gas-Propane for disposal.
20. YARD DEBRIS – Debris will be picked up at the curb on second regular trash collection day. It may be put in 5 gallon containers and weigh not more than 50lbs. Call for a bulk pick up, 1-800-633-9096. Yard debris may be dropped off at the Ecological Facility.
21. SHEET ROCK- Sheet rock may be picked up at the curb on second trash collection day. Sheet rock must be in 4ft. lengths. Remove or bend all nails or screws. Call 1-800-633-9096 for bulk pick up. Work done by contractors will not be picked up.
22. BLACKTOP – Blacktop may be picked up curbside on second trash collection day. Blacktop may be put in 5 gallon containers, not weighing more than 50lbs. Call for bulk pick up 1-800-633-9096. Blacktop may not be dropped off at the Ecological Facility.
23. PAINT CANS – For oil base paint, call MCIA @ 278-8086. For latex paint – lids must be off, cans filled with sand, dirt, of kitty litter. Then, call 1-800-633-9096 for a bulk pick up.
24. CHAIN LINK/WOOD FENCE – Fence must be cut into 4ft. lengths. Chain link must be bundled and tied, not weighing over 50lbs. per bundle or section. Call 1-800-633-9096 for pick up. Concrete must be removed from poles. NOTE: Work done by contractors will NOT be picked up.
25. SWING SETS – Metal - Call 890-3560. Wood sets- Call 1-800-633-9096 for pick up. Remove all concrete on poles. All sets must be taken apart.
