Water Pollution Control Treatment Plant Project Notice - April 30th
The Hamilton Township Sewer Utility would like to notify local residents of the upcoming construction work at the Wastewater Treatment Plant (300 Hobson Avenue). Work is scheduled to occur on or about the week of April 30, 2012.
A contractor will begin work on one of our digester’s boilers and the Dystor cover. This activity entails the removal and replacement of the large plastic red dome cover. This cover is used to store methane gas that we re-use for heating our digester’s boilers. The digester, which the dome is covering, will need to be cleaned and the remaining material properly removed by a certified hauling contractor.
We anticipate the project to be substantially complete by May 25, 2012.
Due to the proximity, you may notice the following during the construction:
? From the adjacent highway, you may observe a larger flare coming out of our waste gas burner.
? You may notice an increased volume of closed tanker trucks entering and leaving our facility.
? You may possibly smell an odor during the removal of the cover and the cleaning portion of the project.
Please note, this project will not affect your sanitary sewer service.
We apologize for the inconvenience this work may cause and ask for your cooperation and understanding. Thank you in advance for your patience as we prepare for much-needed upgrades to the equipment at your wastewater treatment plant. If you have any questions, please contact us at (609) 581-4140 weekdays between 8 AM and 4 PM.
