The Hamilton Township Library has recently joined forces with the group Terracycle to help raise funds for our library, while keeping the Earth a little cleaner in the process.
The library is currently collecting all Nabisco® and Keebler® brand cookie wrappers (without the trays), as well as all plastic Scott® brand paper towel, tissue, toilet paper, and napkin packages. Once collected, the materials are sent off to Terracycle, where they are “upcycled” into products such as tote bags, backpacks and more. In return the library receives funds, which will help to purchase books, subsidize programming and pay for other resources that all library users can enjoy. With the proposed budget cuts currently before the Legislature, this couldn’t come at a better time.
So the next time you’re about to throw away those cookie or paper product wrappers, remember that a simple trip to the library could help you, your neighbors, and the environment. Who knows - maybe you’ll even leave with a good book!
