Radon testing kits can be obtained for $20.00 through this office. All tests are performed by radiation data.

DON'T IGNORE THE HEALTH HAZARD
THAT MAY BE IN YOUR HOME!

DEFINITION: Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas found in soils everywhere, and it is the single greatest environmental health hazard. It is the second leading cause of lung cancer and may be responsible for as many as 500 deaths a year in New Jersey. This invisible, odorless gas can enter your home and build up to hazardous levels, but it cannot be detected by human senses-only by a special test.

The good news is that tests are simple and inexpensive, and radon problems can be fixed !!

Don't ignore this health hazard.

REASONS TO TEST FOR RADON:

  1. Lung cancer is something you can do without
  2. It's one carcinogen that's easy to avoid.
  3. You're buying a house.
  4. You're selling a house.

Take time to test. Protect yourself and your family.

FACTS HOMEOWNERS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT RADON

  • Radon is a major health hazard.
  • In enclosed places, like your home, radon can build up to hazardous levels.
  • Radon is undetectable by human senses, and can only be measured by a special test.
  • Testing is easy, inexpensive and recommended for all New Jersey homes.
  • Radon problems can be corrected.
  • For more information and test kits, call the Division of Health at (609) 890-3820.
