How do I report a Stop Up in Sanitary Sewer Service to my home?
A Stop UP is when the water is contained in the resident's house, such as toilet or sink backing up. Even if the water is going in the basement, it is considered a stop up because it is contained in the resident's house.

To report a stop up, submit a citizen service request and call 581-4140. If it is reported Mon.-Fri. during the hours of 8am-3pm (holidays), an inspector will come out and check the main line in the street and the house lateral line (from interior trap of house out to curbline). The lateral line is the line running from the curb line back to the house. This is a free same day service to clean the house lateral only. No appointments are made in advance and the homeowner must be home.
If the stop up is reported Mon.-Fri. after 3 pm, submit a citizen service request and call 581-4140. A crew will respond to inspect the Main Line and if necessary clean the Main Line blockage in the street that is impacting the entire neighborhood. If the problem in your home still exists the next business day, call back and an inspector will come out to inspect your house lateral line (must be home). If you cannot wait, contact a plumber at your own expense to clear a blockage in your house lateral. Any fees you incur will not be reimbursed by the Township.
