I am opening up a new business in an existing building, do I need a Certificate of Occupancy?
Category: Change of Ownership (Resale/Re-rental)
A certificate of occupancy is not required as long as there is no change in the business type (inspection office will provide a letter if this is necessary).
If the building is going to be used for a different type of business, then a certificate of occupancy is required.
